SUPPORTING YOUTH IMPACTED BY FOSTER CARE

Every year, Project 48 provides support and services to over 1,000 youth, ages 7–23, in the Portland Metro area who are navigating the foster care system. These young people face incredible challenges, and your support ensures they receive the care and resources they need during critical transitions in their lives.

Our Impact Starts with Essentials:
When youth enter foster care or move to a new home, they often have little more than the clothes on their backs. Project 48’s care bags are thoughtfully packed with brand-new backpacks, clothing, shoes, and hygiene items, offering not just essentials but also a sense of normalcy, compassion, and dignity during an incredibly tumultuous time.

Spreading Joy During the Holidays:
The holidays can be especially difficult for youth in foster care, but Project 48’s Holiday Drive program ensures they feel remembered and valued. With your help, we provide personalized gifts, winter clothing, and holiday cheer to brighten their season and remind them they are not alone.

Preparing for a Brighter Future:
Through our Life Skills Program, we guide young adults aged 17–23 with practical life skills and job training. We ensure that every young adult who graduates from our program has the resources and tools needed for independence and success as they transition out of the foster care system.
